ELITE WORLD SERIES

Introduction

The 2004 Elite 16 Major World Series was a tremendous success. Building on this success will be changes for 2005.

In 2005, 24 teams will be invited to the Elite World Series. The method for qualifying will be a little different making it more convenient for teams to attend.

The Elite World Series will again be for ages 11 thru 14. The event will be July 31-August 7 at Disney's Wide World of Sports.

Qualifying for the 2005 Elite World Series

There are Four methods a team has to qualify for the 2005 Elite World Series. They are as follows:
1) The 2004 World Series Champion (1 Berth) - In 10U and the Elite World Series Champion in 11U, 12U and 13U will be invited.
2) Through Super NIT's (17 Berths) - 10 Events
3) Through Regional Super NIT's (5 Berths) - Regional Events
4) At-Large - (1 Berth)

There will be Ten Super NIT's in 2005. Seven of the Super NIT's will offer berths to the winning and second place team. Three of the Super NIT's will offer a berth to the winning team. Teams earning an Elite World Series berth must play in their State Championship. Super NIT's will also award higher points than other NIT's.

- The country will be divided into five sections with each section hosting a Regional Super NIT. These will be the last Super NIT's of the season and will be closed to teams outside of the region. The winning team will receive a berth to the Elite World Series. To be eligible to play in the Regional Super NIT a team must have played in their State Championship. Regional Super NIT's will award higher points than other Super NIT's and offer special trophy packages.

- The 2004 Elite 16 World Series Champion will receive a berth to the Elite World Series in ages 10-13. These teams must have 7 players from roster that was used to win the World Series.

- A National host team will be selected by the Baseball National Committee.

States listed under each region will play in the Regional Super NIT in that region.
Teams will not be allowed to play in a Regional Super NIT outside their region.

Award Package for the The Elite World Series

This truly will be an elite event. With plans to eventually televise this event on location at Disney along with the outstanding awards and travel package, teams will remember the Elite World Series for a lifetime.

-         No entry fee
-
         Each team will receive a maximum of 5 rooms per night for 6 nights based on total number of rooms booked.  If 12 or more rooms are booked, then team will be allowed 5 free rooms at a USSSA approved hotel.
-         All teams participating in the Elite World Series must stay at USSSA approved hotels.
-         Elite World Series souvenirs for every player sponsored by ESPN Magazine.
-         Free Championship rings for players and coaches on Championship team.
-         Discounted travel
-         Discounted theme park tickets
-         Outstanding awards
